  • Vaba d.d. bank donates the funds intended for the purchase of Christmas presents and cards to the Saint Nicholas Shelter

    Varaždin, 22nd December 2011 -  On a ceremony held in the City Hall in Varaždin, Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin donated today to the Solidarity fund of the City of Varaždin the funds with which children beds for the youngest inhabitants of the Home for victims of domestic violence (Saint Nicholas Shelter) will be purchased. Namely, the funds that were intended for the purchase of Christmas presents and cards have been donated to the Saint Nicholas Shelter through the purchase of children beds, that will without doubt make the days the the children spend in this shelter easier to bare.
    The ceremony was attended by Deputy Mayor of Varaždin Vjeran Radelić, Head of the Solidarity Fund of the City of Varaždin Darinka Hajduk-Vučić, Petar Zrinski, President of the Management Committee of the Fund, Head of the Saint Nicholas Shelter, and Josip Šeremet, Deputy CEO of Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin, as well as by Ivana Cesar, Head of Retail Banking Division of Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin.
       
    Home for victims of domestic violence - Saint Nicholas Shelter - has been active in Varaždin since 2004, and since than has taken care of over 800 of violence victims. It has been founded by the Solidarity Fund of the City of Varaždin and Caritas of Varaždin Bishopric. The Home currently takes care of 17 people, being 7 women and 10 children.  
    Besides the basic existential conditions, the proteges of the institution receive psychosocial assistance on a daily basis. The shelter is financed based on the contract signed with the Ministry of Health and Social Care and based on donations such as the one made by Vaba bank.
     
  • Vaba d.d. bank continues negotiations with potential investors

    After an indicative offer for capital increase of Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin has been accepted by the Management Board, Supervisory Board and the majority shareholders, Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin has signed today a Non-Disclosure Agreement with a reknown American investment fund, as a potential investment, and the process of due dilligence of the Bank will commence soon, with the goal of further realization of a possible investment.

    In addition to the above stated, Vaba d.d. bank has also received today a Letter of interest for a capital increase of the Bank by a large domestic investment fund that is interested in investments and consolidation of small banks in Croatia. Further negotiations are expected to follow, in order for an agreement to be reached on the terms and amount of recapitalization with the Bank's current shareholders, after which a due dilligence process would follow as well.

    The public will be regularly informed on all further significant steps.

    Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin is doing business with a capital adequacy rate in line with all legal and sublegal regulations and internal acts. Related to the capital adequacy rate we also stress that the regulatory minimum in Croatia if far higher than the minimum capital adequacy rate for banks in the European Union, which contributes not only to the stability of Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin, but to the stability of the entire banking system in Croatia as well.
     
    The Croatian National bank conducts supervision over all credit institutions in Croatia, including Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin. The supervision is performed through the analysis of multiple reports that the banks regularly deliver to the Croatian National Bank, as well as through performing direct supervision over the bank's business activities. During May and June 2011 the Croatian National Bank performed a regular direct supervision over the business activities of Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin, and has issued a Resolution after the supervision has been finalized, stating that the Bank is doing business in line with all legal and sublegal acts.
     
    Since the Bank is directed towards continuous development, it is examining the possibilities for further strategic positioning as a strong regional bank for financing small and medium entrepreneurs, and with this goal it is working on equity strenghtening.
     
    We also divert attention towards today's announcement of the Croatian National Bank that points out that according to capital adequacy ratio and liquidity ratios the situation in Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin is stabile.

  • Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin expands its business activities in Medjimurska County

    Due to a large interest of small entrepreneurs and crafts situated in Medjimurska County, starting as of the 1st October Vaba d.d. bank Varazdin has decided to expand its existing offer in Branch Čakovec with an even more quality supply of products and services for crafts and small entrepreneurs. So, from the 1st October the Department for Crafts and Small Entrepreneurs of Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin has its special office in Branch Čakovec, that is located in the Matica hrvatska Street. In addition to the existing products and services thet the Branch Čakovec is offering to citizens, both existing and potential clients - crafts and small entrepreneurs are offered from October with all required information related to opening transaction accounts, Internet banking and various lines of long-term and short-term loans adjusted to individual needs of small entrepreneurs.
     
    Since doing business with small entrepreneurs is a strategic goal of Vaba d.d. bank varaždin, the Bank has also established cooperation with the European Investment Fund (EIF), with a goal to achieve a common mission, that is to give support to the development of small and medium entrepreneurship. So, at the end of 2010 Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin and EIF signed a Loan Agreement with a goal to enable a more simple access to financial funds for the Croatian microentrepreneurs. Through the signing of this Agreement EIF ensures the funds for 50% of the value of each approved microloan, while the rest of the funds is ensured by Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin.
    Loan applicants can be microentrepreneurs, i.e. all crafts, small and medium companies and cooperatives, household farmings, and free trades, that are 100% owned by citizens of the Republic of Croatia, with a maximum of 10 employees, annual revenues up to EUR 2.000.000,00 and/or total Balance Sheet value under EUR 2.000.000,00.
    As a part of this program long-term loans with a repayment period up to 6 years  are approved. Repayment dynamics is agreed with the Bank, with a possibility of a 12 month grace period.  
    Loan amount can be from a minimum of EUR 3.000 to a maximum of EUR 25.000, value in HRK. The interest rate is floating, and currently it varies from 7,538% to 8,038% annualy (interest rate is related to EURIBOR and is complied with it every 6 months).

    The advantages of this credit line are as it follows:
    • all loan purposes are covered, from investing in the purchase, construction, reconstruction or expansion of business facilities, purchase of equipment and other long-term assets, working capital purposes to loan refinancing,
    • with an approval of a long-term loan from EIF funds, an overdraft is automatically approved as well, with a maturity of 6 months, in a HRK amount that is equal to the EUR amount of the long-term loan approved from the funds of the European Investment Fund, with an interest rate that is 9,99% annualy, floating, without a fee for initial approval of the overdraft and without the expenses of insurance instruments notarization.
    Obligatory insurance instruments for these loans are Debenture Notes by the loan user and the owner of the loan user (company), and according to the rating of the loan applicant and the requested loan amount additional insurance instruments are contracted, such as mortgages, co-debtorships, guarantors, bank guarantees and any other insurance instruments that the entrepreneur agrees upon with the Bank.

  • Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin participates in the 3rd economy fair in Ivanec

    Under the organization of the City of Ivanec, Varaždin County and Business zone Ivanec Ltd., on the 23rd and 24th September 2011, the 3rd economy fair in Ivanec took place.  
     
    Among fifty exhibitioners from Bjelovar, zagreb, Krapina, Medjimurje and Varazdin County, and Sarajevo County, Vaba d.d. bank was present as well, presenting its credit lines for retail customers, crafts and entrepreneurs, as well as other services of Vaba d.d. bank Varazdin.
     
  • Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin introduces a new credit line for crafts and small entrepreneurs

    In addition to the already existing microloans from the credit line of the EUROPEAN INVESTMENT FUND (EIF), an overdraft is automatically approved with no approval fee being charged.

    Vaba d.d. bank's offer for crafts is supplemented from September by a new product: along with the already existing microloans from the EIF line that are approved up to the amount of EUR 25.000, EIF loan users are automatically approved with an overdraft, with no approval fee being charged. If the client does not wish to use the overdraft, there are no additional expenses. Each user of a loan from the EIF credit line is enabled to use an overdraft that is approved in the following way: if the EIF loan is approved in the amount of EUR 10.000, an overdraft in the amount of HRK 10.000 is automatically approved. Since the maximum amount of a loan that is approved from the EIF credit line is EUR 25.000, the maximum overdraft amount is HRK 25.000. Clients that are already doing business through an account in Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin can be approved with a bigger overdraft, in line with the turnover on the business transaction account in Vaba. Interest rate on the used part of the overdraft that is approved in such a manner is 9,99% annualy.

  • General Assembly of Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin

    On the 24th August 2011 General Assembly of Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin was held, for which the notification was published in NN number 83/2011 on the 18th July 2011.

    The Assembly was attended by 8 shareholders representing 1.124.800 voting shares, i.e. 63,7% of the Bank's subscribed capital.

    The Decisions were adopted unanimously as proposed, except for decisions under points 7 and 9 of the Agenda.

    Namely, for point 7 of the Agenda shareholder Validus Inc. had a counterproposition that was adopted during voting, and through which the following new members of the Supervisory Board have been chosen (for a mandate of 4 years):

    Six shareholders that represented 68,5% of capital present on the Assembly have voted in favour of this decision, while the remaining two shareholders were neutral during vote.

    Proposition under point 9 of the Agenda, related to the adoption of the modified text of the Statute, has not been adopted, considering that during the voting non-sufficient votes have been obtained, representing less than the required three quarters of the subscribed capital present at the General Assembly.
  • Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin offers a new product - long-term HRK loan with no guarantors

    Varaždin, 16th August 2011 - Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin completes its wide palette of loans with a new, long-term HRK cash loan with no guarantors. This loan has been created based on the conducted analysis of the clients' needs, as well as on the current market conditions. Namely, great exposure of the banking sector  to critics due to the CHF loans, requests that the FX clausule is cancelled, as well as foreclosures on guarantors etc., have all resulted with a growing demand for favourable loans in the domestic currency - HRK.
     
    Loans will be approved in the amounts from HRK 10.000,00 to 50.000,00, while the nominal annual interest rate will be 8,99%.

    *representative examples have been calculated under the assumption that the loan is placed on the 10th August 2011 and that the commitment fee is paid on the 31st August 2011. Interest calculation has been conducted by using a relative interest rate, french method.
     
    Loan users can be all existing and new clients with a credit ability. If a current account and Mastercard are contracted, the approval fee will be 1,99%, while it will be 2,99% of the approved loan if these products are not contracted.
     
    By contracting a current account in Vaba, the client will (after the loan is approved) be approved with an overdraft on the current account, after the first regular income is received (wage, pension), while the Bank will make a payment of HRK 100,00 on each client's account as "Vaba action payment". Mastercard credit card can be contracted as a charge or revolving card, and through a loan approval a limit at the level of 10% of the loan is approved as well.
     
    It is important to emphasise that no guarantors or mortgages will be requested for this loan, and that the client will have the possibility of obtaining a 3-month grace period.

    Vaba general sponsor of MALI MEF festival
     
    In the centre of Čakovec, on the large stage on the Square of Republic, on the 1st August 2011, as a part of the Porcijunkulovo festival, a cultural-touristic manifestation of the City of Čakovec, under the general sponsorship of VABA d.d. bank Varaždin, the fifth jubilar Childrens' Festival MALI MEF took place.
     
    As a part of the Vaba bank's strategy of socially responsible business conduct, through this sponsorship the Bank has continued participating in and supporting all significant cultural, social and sports events in the local communities, in order to help and contribute to the development of economies in all five counties in which Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin has branches.
     
    At this occasion the Bank has presented its products, before all the offer of quality and favourable financing sources for small entrepreneurs.
    Together with the European Investment Fund the Bank approves loans up to EUR 25.000 to small and medium entrepreneurs - loans that can be used for the purchase and construction of business buildings, purchase of equipment, for permanent working capital or for refinancing loans with extremely favourable conditions.
     
    Except to small entrepreneurs, loans are approved to citizens as well - long-term non-purpose loans and transfer loans, for financing overdrafts an credit card expenses in other banks.
    Vaba bank takes care of the youngest as well, through attractive interest rates for retail savings, by Vaba konto Junior, children's savings of Vaba bank. Children's savings has been specially  well accepted by parents, who are provided with an opportunity to teach their children of a responsible money management.
     
    The Festival was very well attended, Vaba bank's counter had may visitors, the youngest ones were "supplied" with baloons and candy, their parents with advertising material. 
  • Decrease of interest rates for retail loans

    Taking into account the trend of subsequent decrease of interest rates on the money and loan market, and the decrease of the Central Bank's discount rate, Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin decreases interest rates for all retail loans approved after the 1st January 2006, and that have an annual interest rate over 12%, to 11,99% annualy.

    From the 1st July 2011 regular interest rate for overdrafts on current accounts and Mastercard is also 11,99%.

     
  • Disposition over minors' funds from the 1st April 2011

    We inform You on the new amounts of funds on accounts, i.e. minors' savings, of which parents, i.e. legal representatives, can dispose of.

    From the 1st April 2011 parents, i.e. legal representatives, can dispose of an amount that depends on the child's age, without the approval of a social care centre, in the following amounts:

    • 908,31 HRK for children up to 6 years of age (17 % of average wage in Croatia),
    • 1.068,60 HRK for children between 7 and 12 years of age (20 % of average wage in Croatia),
    • 1.175,46 HRK for children between 13 and 18 years of age (22% of average wage in Croatia) .

     
    For amounts over the above listed ones, parents, i.e. legal representatives, must obtain an approval of the appropriate social care centre.


     
  • Instruction for clients regarding the disposition over incomes and fees excluded from foreclosure - NEW

    In order to achieve rights for disposition over protected incomes and/or fees for Article 91 and 92 of the Law on Foreclosure, a filled out Notification form from Article 122, paragraph 1 of the Law on Foreclosure, must be delivered in a FINA regional centre or branch.

    Notification form can be found in all Bank's Branches.


     
  • Decrease of interest rates for retail FX term deposits

    Dear clients,

    Related to the situation in the macroeconomic enviroment and the decrease of interest rates on the financial market, Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin has brought a decision on the decrease of regular interest rates on FX term deposits in EUR, CHF, USD and other currencies, as well as on term deposits Vaba Konto and Vaba Konto Junior in HRK and EUR.
    New interest rates will be applied for newly contracted term deposits as of 1st April 2011.

     
  • General Assemby of Vaba d.d. Bank Varaždin

    On the 23rd February 2011 General Assembly of Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin took place. The Assembly reached an unanimous decision on the change of the Bank's business activity, and the decision on the related Statute modification, as it was proposed in the invite for the General Assembly (published in NN 6/2011 from the 14th January 2011).
     
    The existing business activities were expanded with new ones in line with the Law on Capital Market, while the other activities have been terminologically coordinated with the Law on Credit Institutions.
     
    The Assembly was attended by 5 shareholders that represented 979.975 shares with a voting right, i.e. 55,5% of the total Bank's PIC.
  • Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin achieves a growth of profit before provisions of 29,8%

    Varaždin, 10th February 2011 - According to unaudited financial statements Vaba d.d. bank varaždin continues its successful business trend in 2010. Net interest revenues are 14,8% higher than in 2009, which has, with the maintening of expenses at the last year's level, influenced the increase of profit before provisions of 29,8%. In line with the worsening economic situation, net-expenses for provisioning have increased from HRK 2,3 million to HRK 8,6 million, which reduced the profit from HRK 5,1 million to HRK 1,0 million.
     
    Total assets of the Bank on the 31st December 2010 come to HRK 1,43 billion, which represents an increase of 18,1% compared to the balance on the 31st December 2009, bearing in mind that loans have risen by 9,1% to HRK 883,8 million. On the other side of the Balance Sheet, the most noticable increase is of the retail deposits from HRK 627,6 million on the 31st December 2009 to HRK 780,8 million on the 31st December 2010, representing a growth of 24,4%.
     
  • VABA d.d. bank Varaždin donates wooden didactic toys to children of Varaždin County Hospital

    Varaždin, 2nd February 2011 – Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin, as a socially responsible company, continuously supports humanitarian projects, so this time it made happy the children in the Pediatrics Department of Varaždin County Hospital with wooden didactic toys that were made by the memebers of the Association for a happier child Zvjezdica.
     
    Ivana Cesar, Head of the Retail Banking Division of Vaba d.d. bank varaždin awarded the toys to the children in the Pediatrics Department of Varaždin County Hospital, to make their stay in the hospital as pleasant and as merry as possible. The awarding was also attended by Biserka Horvat, dr.med., Deputy head of the Department for health care of children and infants.
    With wishes that they get better as soon as possible, Ivana Cesar pointed out that Vaba will participate in the future as well in various humanitarian projects that are of significance for the City of Varaždin and Varaždin County. 
     
  • Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin held a presentation in the Varaždin County Chamber of Crafts

    On the 1st February 2011, in the offices of Varaždin County Chamber of Crafts in Varaždin, Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin held a presentation of its credit lines and financial services ment for craftsmen and small entrepreneurs. Financial products and services of the Bank, but novelties from the Law regulations as well, have been presented by Ivana Cesar, Head of Retail Banking Divison in Vaba d.d. bank varaždin.

    In the Vaba d.d. bank loan offer there are several favourable entrepreneurial credit lines, from local project of development of small entrepreneurship, local project of development - microloans, program of incentive for small entrepreneurship in Varaždin County, loans in cooperation with the City of Ludbreg, the City of Lepoglava and the City of Ivanec, to credit lines in cooperation with the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development. So, inside the framework of local projects for small entrepreneurship development, the Bank offers craftsmen and small and medium entrepreneurs from Varaždin County loans from HRK 200.000 to HRK 5 million, with a maximum maturity of 10 years, a possible grace period of 2 years, with a floating interest rate of 8% annualy. It is important to stress out that the Varaždin County and the Ministry of Economy of Republic Croatia participate in the subventioning of interest rate with 0,5% and 2,0%.
    Microloans projects refer to loans from HRK 35.000 to HRK 200.000, with a possible grace period of 1 year. These loans can be used for the purchase, construction, reconstruction or expansion of business facilities, purchase of equipment, permanent working capital. These loans are also subventioned by the County and Ministry of Economy with 1%.

    In its wide palette of loans, Vaba bank Varaždin also offers entrepreneurial loansin cooperation with the European Investment Fund. New microloans project is worth a total of 10 million EUR, from which 5 million EUR have been ensured by the European Investment Fund, and 5 million by VABA. The applicants for these loans can be crafts, small entrepreneurs, household farmings, committees and free trades. Loans can be approved in a minimum amount of EUR 3.000,00 up to the amount of EUR 25.000,00, while the purpose of the loans can be the purchase, construction, reconstruction or expansion of business facilities, purchase of equipment or parts of equipment, permanent working capital or loan refinancing. Maximum maturity is 6 years, including a grace period that can be up to a year, depending on the loan purpose.

    At this occasion Ivana Cesar also presented the possibilities of financing related to IPARD programs (Measure 302: Diversification and development of rural economic activities inside IPARD program). Through CBRD programs the Bank is able to offer a very acceptable interest rate and maturities, so in this way the financing of a project all the way to its realization and refund from EU funds is enabled, i.e. ensured.  If the financing of a part of investment activities that the entrepreneur is to finance independently through loan repayment is necessary, the Bank is also prepared to take part in the financing of that part of the investition as well. In its endeavours to include as much entrepreneurs as possible into these programs, and to stimulate the growth of entrepreneurial ideas, the Bank is willing to include itself into each individual project, and besides financing acceptable investments from IPARD programs, to help through education and drafting of documentation required for applying to tenders by certain measures.
      
    Novelties in the Law regulations from January 2011 refer to changes in payment operations, including cancellation of main and secondary accounts (all accounts are equal), and making all accounts transaction and multi-currency. Foreclosures are taken over by FINA from the 1st January, that now blocks and unblocks accounts and notifies the banks on this.

  • Presentation of IPARD PROGRAM

    On the 26th January 2011 a presentation of the IPARD program in the Croatian Chamber of Commerce iv Varaždin has been held (Measure 302). The presentation also included the newest modifications of Measures 101 and 103, and all with a purpose the familiarize entrepreneurs with the possibilities that IPARD offers, as well as project financing models.
     
    Jasna Slunjski, Head of Corporate Banking Division in Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin, informed the participants on the manners of financing IPARD programs through CBRD (Croatian bank for Reconstruction and Development) loans, while the presentation of Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin credit lines for craftsmenship and small entrepreneurship was held by Katarina Rogined, Head of Department for Crafts and SMEs in Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin.

     
  • Entrepreneurial loans of Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin in cooperation with the European Investment Fund (EIF)

    Considering that supporting the development of small and medium entrepreneurship is one of the main strategic baselines of the Bank, European Investment Fund (EIF) recognized Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin as a partner in the accomplishment of a mutual mission.
    At the end of 2010 Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin and EIF signed a Lease Agreement with a purpose to provide the Croatian microentrepreneurs with a more simple approach to financial funds. Through the signing of this lease EIS ensures the funds for 50% of each approved microloan, while the rest is ensured by Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin from its own funds.
    Inside this program short-term loans will be approved and it is expected that the entire sum of the program, being EUR 10 million, will be allocated to all microentrepreneurs in the next two years. 


    Terms and conditions of entrepreneurial loans of Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin in cooperation with EIF

    1. LOAN APPLICANTS:

    - Loan applicants can be crafts, small and medium enterprises and cooperatives, household farmings and free trades 100% owned by Croatian citizens with the maximum of 10 employees. maximum annual revenues of 2.000.000,00 EUR and/or maximum Balance Sheet value under 2.000.000,00 EUR

    2. LOAN PURPOSE:

    - purchase, construction, restoration or expansion of business objects
    - purchase of equipment or certain parts of equipment
    - permanent working capital
    - loan refinancing

    3. LOAN AMOUNT:
    - from 3.000,00 EUR to 25.000,00 EUR, payment in HRK value

    4. MANNER OF LOAN UTILIZATION:

    - loan portion designated for fixed assets will be allocated by the Bank to the client through a cashless payment on the supplier's account or to the supplier of services to the entrepreneur, based on a certified situation, quote, receipt or contract on the delivery or purchase in the minimum amount of 90% of the loan, while the remaining maximum 10% are to be paid on the entrepreneur's account .
    - loan portion designated for working capital will be entirely placed on the client's account

    5. MATURITY AND GRACE PERIOD:

    - maximum maturity to 6 years, including the grace-period
    - maturity up to 12 months (depending on loan purpose)

    6. INTEREST RATE:

    - floating, 6m EURIBOR + 5,8% for existing clients of the Bank that perform their payment transactions through accounts opened in Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin (majority of payment transactions)
    - floating, 6m EURIBOR + 6,3% for future clients of the Bank that will perform their payment operations through accounts opened in Vaba d.d. bank Varaždin

    7. APPROVAL FEE:

    - 1,75 % of the loan amount, on a one-time basis (min. 100,00 EUR), is charged from the loan

    8. LOAN REPAYMENT:

    - in equal monthly annuities

    9. INSURANCE INSTRUMENTS:

    - Debenture Notes by the company and its owner
    - according to the assessment of client bonitet and loan amount, additional insurance instruments in agrrement with the Bank (mortgage, co-debtorships, guarantors, Guarantees and other insurance instruments that the client contracts with the Bank)

    In order to be able to dispose over protected incomes and/or fees from Articles 91 and 92 from the Foreclosure Law, it is necessary to deliver a filled-out form Notifications from the Article 122 of the Foreclosure Law into a regional centre or FINA branch (according to the list of Agency Branches enclosed to the Notification).
